The specialization in multimedia creation from the art department at the universidad de los andes seeks to strengthen the creative processes involved in the visual, sound, and narrative aspects of interactive projects before purely technological conceptions. It's a space for professionalization presenting interactive multimedia as a medium that brings together different disciplines, and that enriches itself from the many visions and professional practices making use of it. It proposes to open a space for reflection on the design, production, reception, use, applications, and the multimedia projects' impact on the internet and other media.

Program Objectives

It aims at forming specialists that from a reflection on audiovisual construction, interactive multimedia narration, its contents, possible uses, and their social impact, become knowledgeable and are able to master different technologies so they're able to propose, evaluate, direct, and/or participate in interactive projects for the web and other supports.

The specific objectives of the program of specialization in multimedia creation are the following:

-To develop mechanisms that potentiate each participant's creative qualities through the utilization of digital tools and their integration in interactive multimedia projects.

-To provide an integral vision of interactive media and study its relationships with those sectors where it's possible to provide a critical and responsible development by analyzing and reflecting on its incidence within the Colombian and international context.

-To develop criteria to search new forms of interactive expressions by using the relationship between art and technology as point of departure.

-To promote technological aspects, their management, possibilities and limits from the point of view of hardware and software technology and creative development.
